ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

We are actively seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in the government or commercial nuclear industry. Responsibilities include:
• Conduct engineering and design of process piping systems primarily to ASME B31.3, B31.9 and B31.1
• Provide technical support as a mechanical engineer and assist in developing processes, identifying process improvements, and contributing to development activities.
• Serve as a contributing member of the Design/Engineering and Operations teams to address engineering challenges.
• Support operations as needed to maintain equipment and ensure the operability of manufacturing processes.
• Contribute to risk analysis and management.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor of Science degree or Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 6 years of applicable experience.
• Experience working on a Department of Energy site.
• Hands-on experience with computer-aided engineering (CAE) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM).
• Adequate knowledge of engineering analysis tools (ANSYS, ProMechanica or similar).
• Use computer-aided designs to create, calculate and simulate results.
• Solid understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science etc.
• Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner.
• Ability to produce technical documents with clearly organized structure and grammar.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Proficient in MS Office to include MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check, including verification of employment and education.
• Must be a United States citizen.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Experience working with gloveboxes.
• Current/active Professional Engineering license.
