A fantastic opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join an established practice in Brisbane and provide cover over a Maternity leave. This is a full or part time role and may also lead to a permanent opportunity within in the practice. The position is full or part time role and allows the right candidate the clinical freedom to utilise their skills and build ongoing relationships with clients. The clinic has a supportive management team in place with some Locum Vets choosing to stay on permanent within the practice once they started working there.

The position and responsibilities:
• The practice are looking for a Vet who will provide ongoing support/ mentoring and training where applicable to two newly graduate Vets on site.
• You will work... closely alongside a team of 6 Vets, and a large nursing team.
• The role will involve all aspects of veterinary work.
• You will have access to CPD programmes development programmes.
• You will have access to employee wellbeing health programmes.
• You will be allocated plenty of time to liaise with clients and follow up on cases.
• You will work alongside fellow team members in ensuring a positive practice culture is in place.
• You would complete any administrative tasks as required.
• You will perform consultations, diagnostics, and surgeries.
• You will advice clients on the health of their pet and offer advice on their health.
• You would administer drugs to treat the animals.

The practice will provide ongoing support for your mental health and wellbeing and offer a set up where each induvial can thrive within their role. You will also receive recognition in terms of performance through a rewards programme and continual professional development financed.

• You will have a genuine passion for animal welfare.
• You will understand the importance of a healthy and happy practice culture and ensure that this ethos is shared amongst the whole team and is maintained.
• You will continue to focus on your own professional development

The practice is located North of Brisbane and is just over half hours drive away within a residential suburb. Package and Benefits:
• Salary: Range $75,000 – $120,000 pro rata per annum dependent on experience

Key skills, qualifications and requirements:
• Be eligible to register in this location as a veterinarian as either a qualified fellow / diplomate board eligible / certified AVBC / RCVS / ANZCVS etc
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Go that extra mile with having ability to form good relationships with colleagues and clients alike with a friendly positive outlook.
• Practice a high standard of veterinary care with a compassionate attitude.
• Take part in OOH work – 1 Saturday morning every 4 weeks
• Hold or able to gain a certificate of good standing.
