JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose
To be responsible for overseeing the Know Your Customer (KYC) compliance process within the Bank. To lead a team of KYC assistants and collaborate with various departments to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies. The primary goal is to manage and enhance the KYC monitoring program, detect potential risks, and implement effective strategies to maintain the integrity of the organization’s client base.

Job Responsibilities
• Manage a team of KYC assistants, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the team’s performance aligns with departmental goals and targets.
• Review the Bank’s KYC Data to ensure they comply with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies
• Assist the Senior Specialist in Identifying and assessing potential risks associated with clients and transactions, ensuring timely and appropriate action is taken to mitigate risks.
• Conduct ongoing reviews of KYC files and System information to maintain... the accuracy and completeness of customer information.
• Review of KYC on newly opened accounts to ensure that they are compliant with regulatory requirements and flagging non-compliant accounts.
• Receive updated customer information and ensure that it is updated on the Core Banking System.
• Continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the KYC monitoring program, implementing best practices and innovative solutions.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as compliance, legal, business unit Heads and Branch Managers, to ensure KYC procedures are well-integrated into the organization’s operations.
• Prepare regular reports on KYC activities, compliance metrics, and any identified issues or patterns.
• Collaborate with Compliance to organize training sessions for staff members to enhance their understanding of KYC procedures and regulations.
• Keep abreast of changes in regulatory requirements and industry standards related to KYC and anti-money laundering (AML) to ensure the organization remains compliant.
• Handle escalated cases and communicate effectively with relevant authorities when necessary.
• Ensure the Bank’s compliance with regulations and safeguarding its reputation.

Requirements
Qualifications/Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
Professional: AML/Compliance Certification
Minimum Experience: 3years of experience in KYC, AML, or compliance within the financial services industry.
