Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking Senior Manufacturing Engineers to support the 787 program in North Charleston, South Carolina.

A successful candidate in this role will have passion, creativity, and a desire for process improvement and efficiency. They will also have a strong desire to be out in the factory, interacting with mechanics, and directly supporting the production system. In Production Engineering, we need highly responsible professionals committed to upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and integrity.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform review, sign off, approval, release, and distribution of partner engineering changes in support of partner requirements in ENOVIA to support consumption and IP definition in DELMIA for Supplied Part product structure.

Regularly engages with mechanics on airplane manufacturing/assembly processes, identifying and implementing opportunities to improve the efficiency and reliability of the build plan.

• Apply technical knowledge to innovate, design, and develop manufacturing and assembly processes, tooling, assembly fixtures, and procedures.
• Collect and analyze production data to identify anomalies and investigate root causes when product first-pass quality and/or production efficiency is outside our standards of excellence.
• Troubleshoots and resolves technical problems that arise during production to ensure integrity of the product and to minimize impact to performance, cost or schedule.
• Integrates across engineering disciplines to manage the implementation of technical solutions into the build plan, ensuring production safety and stability and product reliability.
• Analyzes and improves design/build concepts to evaluate a producible product definition (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA)).
• Develops and implements process improvements using Lean production methodologies.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
• Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering classification
• 7 or more years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
• 5 or more years 787 aerospace build plan knowledge, experience with entire value stream of detail part to assembly integration value stream.
• 787 assembly and integration structural knowledge (joins, side of body, wings) from 787 factories Boeing and partner sites.
• Knowledge of various engineering disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, and systems. The ability to communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and issues impacting design, production, and support of products, services, or other deliverables.
• Possess strong written and oral communication skills.
• Be flexible & adaptable in a demanding production environment.
• Be able to interact positively with people and experience working within cross functional teams.
• Ability to learn quickly in a fast paced environment.

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay Range Summary:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Senior Level: $109,650- $148,350
