The role
The GIS Technician will play a crucial role in supporting renewable energy project development by utilizing Geographic Information System (GIS) tools and expertise. The role involves the analysis of spatial data, mapping, resource data and analytics to support critical decision-making and optimize project location, design, and development life cycle.
Responsibilities Will Further Consist Of
Spatial Analysis
• Conduct spatial analyses to identify optimal locations for wind farm development
• Analyse geographical data, including wind patterns, topography, and environmental values.
Resource Assessment
• Utilize GIS tools to assess renewable energy resources, including wind speed and direction, contributing to accurate resource assessments for project feasibility studies
