Role Purpose:

Within the Human Resources team (internally known as Business Servicing Team-BST) we are looking for an HR Manager. This role is accountable for the HR matters and will be supporting our facilities across Belgium with the support of a team of 3 HR team members. You will be working closely with the Manager Business Services in driving the HR Agenda as well as support to foster employee engagement. In complement to the HR responsibilities, this HR Manager will be responsible for the industrial & employee relations within Belgium.

This role will be located in our operations in Dessel - however, occasional travel to our main office in Antwerp as well as other plants within Belgium will be expected.

Responsibilities:
• Act as primary contact for the employees in the team on HR related matters
• Investigate and resolve day-to-day employee relations problems, either directly or through advice to line management
• Act as primary contact for the people managers in the team on HR related matters, provide guidance to the appropriate policies, procedures, or HR colleagues
• Coordinate recruitment process in accordance with Sibelco Group recruitment policies including managing employment agency relations, conducting interviews, managing contingent worker recruitment, Workforce planning and assisting line managers in identifying recruitment needs & developing appropriate recruitment strategies
• Ensure Country HR policies and procedures are compliant with Sibelco Group policies and procedures including updating country employee handbook
• Support and facilitate the ongoing performance management for all roles within the cluster
• Ensure time & attendance and leave & absence tracking is completed in accordance with the country policies and procedures
• Organize and execute onboarding and orientation for all new employees and contingent workers (all levels) including ensuring orientation and induction plan is in place
• Organize exit and termination process including conducting exit interviews as well overseeing off-boarding process of employees in accordance to Sibelco termination process
• Manage Employee & Union labour relations including negotiation of collective agreements, manage collective consultation processes, manage the labour management committee (works council) within the Country and assisting in case of labour disputes
• Manage disciplinary actions for all employees within the country in support of the relevant cluster Representative Business Services
• Support Line Managers in the team in employee performance management actions and facilitating continuous performance dialogues.
• Manage a team of 3 HR professionals.

About you:
• Bachelor’s and/of Master degree in Human Resources/ Business Administration or a similar relevant field is preferred
• 10-15+ years HR professional experience as well as proven track record of experience in people management/team leading
• Experience working in manufacturing or production business is preferred
• Experience in handling Labor Management Committee/ Unions, negotiation of collective agreements as well as manage collective consultation processes is imperative
• Proven experience with compensation & benefits schemes, talent acquisition, performance management and experience in supporting Belgian labour regulations & laws is required
• Knowledge of the full HR cycle (performance, succession, HR processes, onboarding schemes)
• Strong people manager who provides feedback, coaches & motivates the team
• Strong interpersonal skills & ability to build good working relationships to effectively collaborate with teams as well as with leadership
• Excellent communication skills & fluency in both written and spoken Dutch & English is required
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Diplomatic, self-motivated & action oriented
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Quick adaptor to new technology tools and processes
• Be able to work independently as well as oversee a dispersed team
• Good time management as well as ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
• Working knowledge of Workday is an advantage
• Flexibility to travel to support other Sibelco offices in Belgium on a monthly basis is required
