We are proud to be exclusively partnering with our newest client for the recruitment of a Catering Kitchen Manager for their kitchen facility in Sydney CBD.

This role manages 4 department Team Leaders and reports directly to a dynamic Operations Manager.

The Role

As the Catering... Kitchen Manager, you'll play a vital role in the senior management team. This role is responsible for teams that include food preparation, production, packing and the logistics team (delivery). Intensive training will be provided on each department.

More Specifically, The Responsibilities Cover The Following Key Accountabilities

• Understanding the business from end to end, managing teams and performance (approximately 40 staff members who are led by 4 team leaders).
• Balancing hands-on work on the kitchen floor along with team management.
• Ensuring a safe and clean working environment.
• Collaborating with team leaders, assisting with stock management, and meeting budget targets (labour and COGS – oversee rostering (using Tanda).
• Work towards achieving financial goals (understand how this role impacts P/L).
• Recruiting, training, and upskilling staff to maintain excellence.

The Ideal Candidate:

Role

The ideal candidate for this role is a highly motivated professional with a solid background in production or corporate kitchen management. A candidate who can showcase exceptional people management abilities and has a results-oriented approach. More specifically:
• 3+ years kitchen management experience with proven track record in nurturing and driving team performance.
• Multitasking professional with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while enforcing health and safety standards.
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
• Advanced time management skills and a proactive organiser.
• Be highly adaptable to change as this business is in growth mode.
• Have the ability to take on direct feedback and give feedback for the good of the business.
• Basic to intermediate understanding of Microsoft Excel and Google Sheet.
• Full working rights in Australia.
