Negative Elements Influencing Indian Politics
Business

Political meritocracy in India is more like a dream even after 6 decades of Independence. So many years and our political system stays plagued with all kinds of evils like gender-biasedness, corruption, nepotism, and what not. Everyone talks about sustainability in India, however, nobody wants to know where it starts from and where it should lead to. Sustainable development in India is only possible when we can eliminate the biggest challenges including dowry, beggary, poverty, female infanticide, etc.

With respect to political environment, corruption has become the biggest issue among all. It is part and parcel of Indian political life and a place considered only for those who excel in crimes, extracting money, laundering, scamsters, and all others who come under this category. Public has completely lost its belief in this system. The term of meritocracy sounds completely foreign when children of political big shots get seats easily while the deserving candidates remain at bay. There are only a few exceptions to this rule all of which had to take a long path to reach their goal. And most of them had to twist their ways to get their due position. In crux, no one gets the position out of their virtues and qualities. Total system has become a home for fraudsters and imposters.

The biggest victims of this faulty have been the economy and development of this nation. People are subjected to all kind of adversaries on all fronts. Corruption has a huge role to play in everyday administration. People simply damn the system and move forward but there is no one who wishes to participate and take charge. The system needs more and more number of honest people who can root out the problem causing elements. We need to stop cooperating and take a stand.

Nepotism is one the biggest curses that our system is struggling with at the moment. Ours is one of the biggest democracies of the world which is slowly moving towards hereditary democracy. Political leaders who have been on top positions since generations prepare their kids for taking their position. Most of these get full support from their minions and respective parties. The effect is that even the most illiterate and heinous crime culprits have been placed over top positions. Most of them have no idea of the system or how administration works but wish to carry out the task via muscle power.

Last but not the least; red-tapism is another problem that is currently plaguing the system. This feature rests the responsibility in a number of hands on account of decentralization. The only solution to this problem is that public learns to stay vigilant and carries enough political awareness. It can be great solution in reducing the negativities and bringing about the desired change. On the same front, we also need to face another rapidly surfacing problem of gender-bias. Women can also lead the country in fact in a much more efficient manner than their male counterparts. All they is little respect and equality.
