Laboratory Technician Springs The Laboratory Technician is responsible for conducting the full range of paper and packaging testing and analyses available at the state-of-the-art research facility. The incumbent will execute consistent testing using standard operating procedures and report on the results. The incumbent will also assist in validation of lab equipment and basic housekeeping of the lab.

Qualifications and Experience:
BSc or equivalent qualification in one or more of the following fields: Pulp & Paper; Analytical Chemistry; Chemistry; Material Science; Physics;
Good verbal and written English communication.
Basic experience in a laboratory environment will be advantageous.
Job Requirements: Utilise a systematic work approach. Follow standard test methods. Ensure attention to detail. Intermediate report writing skills. Execute basic statistical analyses skills. Able to troubleshoot and resolve... problems. Able to work well under pressure. Computer proficiency in MS Office, basic data management and use of graphical and tabular results presentation. Must be able and willing to work overtime when required. Paper, pulp & packaging testing methodology knowledge will be advantageous.
Your key responsibilities will be: Ensure compliance to SHE rules and regulations as well as create a safe and healthy working environment. Effectively plan and execute assigned laboratory work in full and as per agreed deadlines. Execute & report routine paper and packaging analytical work by following established testing methodology. Conduct and report paper & packaging benchmarking analyses. Adhere to ISO 17025 system requirements. Assist in maintaining the laboratory equipment and conditions.
