MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
This Account Manager’s primary responsibilities are to sell the company’s products, perpetually finding unique ways to engage and increase our customer base. The Account Manager is responsible for managing customers at a local and regional level, or they may be allocated to a particular section of the market or client base. This role is responsible for planning, implementing, and directing the sales activities to achieve sales objectives.

The Account Manager is a driven salesperson, that is a demonstrated self-starter, a problem solver, strategic and has great organizational skills. This role will work cross-functionally with the peers in the management team, as well as other business areas and external partners and suppliers. Finally, the candidate will report to the Regional Sales Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE
Plan Sales Organization and Strategies:
• Implement the agreed sales strategies to achieve assigned sales metrics including volume, revenue, profit, and market penetration
• Keep abreast with new products and competitors
• Perform market research and identify new potential customers and new market opportunities

Execute Sales
• Manage and develop accounts, and then support and continuously maintain positive relationships with current customers.
• Evaluate customer complaints and resolve issues.
• Ensures that sales account initiatives are implemented and executed at the store level.
• Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers as per agreed call schedule.
• Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.

Manage Financial Performance:
• Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts and reports.
• Report on progress towards sales KPI’s.
• Submit all receipts and documentation to Financial Manager on a timely basis.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Qualifications
• Preferably Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field
• 5+ years relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:
• 5+ years of sales experience within foodservice, hospitality or meat distribution environment.
• Proven track record in achieving sales and customer service objectives and sales performance metrics
• Familiarity with local industry trends and issues in the foodservice industry
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills, including the ability to execute multiple initiatives autonomously
• Capable of working with peers and associates from other departments and shifts in a proactive and constructive manner.
• Ability to handle multiple jobs, timelines and deadlines
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and shift priorities as necessary

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND BEHAVIOURAL QUALITIES

Knowledge
• Business acumen – understanding of the business dynamics as a whole
• Knowledge of the company’s market, segments and buyer values
• Solid understanding of digital sales platforms
• High-level proficiency with MS Office programs
• Language – Fluent in English
