Quality Engineer (QE) / Machining Operations / CMM - Orlando, FL
Description:Lockheed Martin is seeking a Quality Engineer (QE) for our Machining Operations Center based in Orlando, FL. The position requires mechanical, electrical or quality engineering experience developing and reviewing quality standards, methods, work instructions and procedures for the inspection of manufactured and procured products. Responsibilities include:

Reviews documentation related to internal and external manufacturing processes to ensure quality products are delivered to the customer.

Supports Integrated Product Teams and various production sites with reviews of quality data on yields, rework, scrap and non-conformance aging.

Ability to analyze and resolve process issues varying from basic to very complex.

Attends and leads program corrective action meeting, identifies trends, assists in problem resolution and insures responsible parties meet commitments.

Participates as an active member of Material Review Boards and Failure Review Boards which includes... dispositioning non-conforming hardware, identifying hardware containment requirements, identifying appropriate root cause and corrective action is taken to prevent recurrence.

Performs assessments and audits on processes and procedures to ensure compliance to specifications, engineering drawings, procedures and ISO-9001/AS9100.

Evaluate the design assurance activities and implementation of production process methodology to prevent impacts to production velocity and quality.

Interfaces with customers, suppliers and program personnel on quality related issues.

Utilizes lean initiatives to reduce waste and maintain continuous improvement.

Makes the final decision on acceptability of product.

This position is for the second shift (12:30 pm to 11:00 pm, including flexibility for a 30 min. lunch).
Basic Qualifications:
Technical Engineering Degree at the Bachelor level or above

Ability to obtain a secret clearance

Ability to obtain special access clearances

Ability to work second shift (12:30 pm to 11:00 pm, including flexibility for a 30 min. lunch)

CMM programming experience

Electrical, Mechanical or Quality Engineering experience developing methods, work instructions and procedures for the inspection of manufactured products

Able to interpret drawings and specifications to develop and apply quality test and inspection methods and able to translate into work instruction

Ability to interpret Drawings, Specifications, Contracts that will enable development and review of QE Processes, and related Performance Metrics

Experienced in reviewing tool designs

Demonstrated understanding of audit techniques

Demonstrated ability to use causal analysis tools to analyze and resolve technical/process issues varying from basic to very complex

Experience in disposition of non-conforming products

Experience in establishing Performance Metrics for identifying process improvement

Experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance

Knowledge of Configuration and Data Management

Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Demonstrated presentation skills

Ability to travel
Desired Skills:
Experience with automated processes and robotic technologies.

Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification

Special Process Engineering Experience

ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and / or Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA)

SAP Application Experience

Experience with use of inspection gages and measuring equipment

AS9100 Interpretation and application experience

Experience working with Government and Commercial customers

Effective communication skills including written, oral, listening and technical writing

Effective interpersonal skills, including team building and collaboration

Knowledge of Industry recognized Quality systems such as International (ISO) and Aerospace (AS)

Development Programs experience

Effectively communicate and interface with Suppliers, Quality Program Management, Engineering, Supplier Quality Management, Sub-contracts (Buyers) and Government Representatives to address supplier's quality deficiencies and ensure effective corrective action
