Researchers will swiftly see how their work enhances our business development and contributes to the success of the firm.Minimum Requirements:+ High school diploma+ 3 years’ office/administrative experience in a law firm or professional services organization+ Experience filing with the USPTO as well as knowledge of USPTO rules and practices, including docketing, public/private PAIR, US Prosecution, and formality requirements+ Must be a self-starter+ Must be able to work independently and within a team+ Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills in order to oversee the docket and keep attorneys and patent agents on track+ Strong computer skills are required, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook+ Proven administrative abilities and excellent judgment+ Ability to handle multiple time-sensitive tasks in a fast-paced environment+ PunctualPreferred Requirements:+ 3 years’ patent prosecution experience+ Knowledge of law firm billing programs (Webview) and patent docketing software (OP Solutions Pattsy)What will your day look like?In this role, you will provide administrative and patent prosecution support to our Prosecution practice group. You are responsible for preparing and finalizing all documents needed to complete the filing of provisional, non-provisional, and PCT applications. You will prepare formal documents (assignment, declaration, power of attorney), obtain appropriate signatures, and follow-up as needed. You will file declaration and power of attorney documents, draft correspondence to clients regarding status updates of applications and patents, and report filing receipts for applications. You are responsible for preparing and filing responses to corrected application papers, restriction requirements, and preliminary amendments.You are responsible for reviewing and managing the docket for U.S. and foreign deadlines, as well as understanding deadlines and action needed on each file. You will review files and prepare information disclosure statements, accompanying documents, and provide overall support for all aspects of portfolio management. You will contact outside vendors to follow-up on drawings, translations, certified copies, etc for filing with the Patent and Trademark Office. You will also retrieve information from USPTO and conduct other internet research. You are responsible for staying current and compliant with MPEP and CFR rules and administrative changes at the USPTO.You will prepare new client engagement letters and conflict waiver letters.
