Installation of 4 Weather stations for WWF Tanzania... Dar es Salaam WWF Tanzania Country Office (WWF-TCO) is a Non- Government Organization dealing with environmental protection in Tanzania since 1990 and it is supporting the Government of Tanzania in implementing various projects in different sectors namely Marine, Forest, Freshwater, Wildlife, Energy and Climate change. WWF global mission is to stop the degradation of the planets natural environment and to build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature. WWF TCO secured funding from German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) through WWF German for implementation of Climate change project in Partnership with Tanzania Natural Resource Forum (TNRF) aimed at addressing climate change impacts in five districts in northern Tanzania including Longido District. Enduimet Wildlife Management Areas (WMA) and Lake Natron area have unique ecosystems of outstanding importance for the protection of global biodiversity.
Objective of the TOR
As part of a project supporting local... communities in climate adaptation, the Worldwide Fund for Nature(WWF) Tanzania planning to install four (4) weather stations at the WMA offices in Enduimet, Ikona and Makao and at the District Executive Director office in Longido. The weather stations will enable the local community to access climate change data and inform community decisions on type of cropsvarieties to be planted, livestock and rangeland management
General Specifications: Solar-powered weather station as a comprehensive local and remote monitoring package which is automated with high-definition, full color TFT LCD display easy to read, day or night. The console shall receive wireless wind speed, direction, rainfall, temperature, humidity, UV and Solar Radiation from the outdoor sensor array. It shall also receive barometric pressure, humidity and temperature from the optional indoor sensor (sold separately). A colored tablet shall combine measured parameters with calculated data, such as Feels Like Temperature (Wind Chill and Heat Index), Dew Point, 10 Minute Wind Speed and Direction, Sunrise, Sunset, Moon Phase, Forecast, and more. The multi-screen display shall also include NIST internet time server synchronization, imperial and metric units of measure, high and low alarm conditions with audible alert, calibration of all major parameters, and real-time internet weather publishing. The weather shall consist of not limited to the following components and Sensors: 6.1. Wind Vane (#1)

Additional Requirements: The weather station should consist of a wireless sensor array which connects to the console via RF (915 MHz) up to 330 feet line of sight in open air (100 feet under most conditions). The sensor arrays primary power source should be a solar panel which charges the super capacitor, with optional battery backup. The sensor array should be mounted to any pole between 1.25 and 2? diameter with adaptive mounting bracket and U-Bolt design that can be tightened to your mounting pole (not included). The station should be secured in a wire cage. The weather should be Wi-Fi connection supported.
