To support the Engineering department there is a placement opportunity for an Engineering Manager. The Engineering Manager will report to the Terminal General Manager.
Providing strategic oversight and alignment of the Engineering department ensuring maximum operational availability, reliability and safety of the equipment and facilities while meeting our Zero Harm objective.
Main activities Ensures continuous Asset management and inventory... management. Performs project management from concept to implementation, and lead BU project teams in the fulfilment of project. Provides Leadership to the Engineering department on all technical aspects of terminal operations. Develops strategic objectives for the Engineering department aligned wit BU objectives. Provides technical expertise for terminal equipment and facilities in support of all Operational and Maintenance departments across the company. Provides annual oversight sustaining equipment and facility budgets including parts procurement. Champions Lean improvement opportunities and innovative solutions. Pro-actively identifies and manages hazards to reduce accidents and injury, including incident investigation, and implementing preventive and corrective actions. Applies DP World best practices, continuously shares knowledge sharing and promotes personal leadership, growth and development of team members by using DP World tools and systems. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with internal and external partners/ stakeholders. Ensures team member development and growth. Carries responsibility for management and leadership of an engaged team, promoting collaboration and ensuring that each is developed and evaluated against goals.
Experience, education and skills A Bachelors degree in Engineering (electrical, mechanical) or a related field. At least 3-5 years experience in the management of mobile and facility asset maintenance. At least 10 years experience in engineering and experience in a leadership, supervisory, or mentorship role. Comprehensive knowledge of mobile industrial asset maintenance requirements & programs. Experienced in working with Maintenance & Warehousing Information Systems. Excellent project management, financial and budget management skills, and lean management. High level analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills. Excellent developed interpersonal skill influence, negotiation, and communication. Proven leadership capability. Strong business acumen and bottom-line orientation. Ability to communicate multilingually in Dutch, English, both spoken and written and preferably Spanish.
