About the Role:
In this role, you will be responsible for laying a foundation of strong engineering culture in Pakistan. Apart from being a servant-leader, you will also be driving the execution of key product initiatives. This role requires someone with a strong collaborative and growth mindset. The teams will have a dotted line reporting structure with US teams... and you will play an integral part in setting up a joint task force with US teams to execute on product strategy.
What You'll Do: Lead engineering teams across multiple locations in PK. Solve complex technical challenges Lead technical design discussions by collaborating with multiple teams Establish a strong engineering culture (e.g. development practices, testing practices, mentorship etc) in KT Pakistan Partner with recruiting and roll out recruitment and developer programs. Improve the KT engineering brand in Pakistan. Represent, advocate, and resolve any operational issues that engineering teams face in PK Lead engineering onboarding and development programs in PK Help roll out technical strategies such as tech stack unification and adoptions of modern software architecture. Communicate and collaborate effectively across geographic locations. Organize and align across cross-functional partners and own executive communication on behalf of PK engineering Develop training programs for new hires in PK
What We're Looking For: Bachelors in Computer Science or similar At least 5 years of relevant development At least 5 years of people management and leadership experience Have technical depth and breadth in the following areas: agile product development, distributed system, infrastructure, cloud computing, build tools, front-end engineering, QA. Have strong empathy Experience of influencing change without direct authority. Has experience of executing cross-functional projects across geographic locations. Excellent communication skills Rolled out engineering initiatives Data-driven and able to crunch numbers Expertise in building Software Engineering Organization Can travel between US and PK (post-COVID). Understanding AI/ML technologies is a plus
