PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Development Communication Officer is responsible for: Using various media platforms to design approaches, tactics, and products/resources to achieve development objectives (e.g. behaviour change communication, community mobilization, etc.) Overseeing Internal Communications area related to procedures and methods used to inform and engage employees inside a company using several channels The design and development of content to streamline internal communications processes and procedures to enhance the support of the Communications Function. Taking carriage of a... support role in the content and create function of the Communications Department. Playing a critical role in internal staff engagement efforts within the organization, whilst carrying out daily engagement in building good will of the organization at large.
MAJOR ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Content and Creative Context-driven content and creative planning that supports the communications business plan is developed and coordinated/implemented Support high performance of the team through the leading of: goal setting, prioritization, process management, relationship management content and Creative Donor branding and other communications compliance requirements are met by all relevant staff and are reflected in all communications/external materials. Build World Vision organizational story, in support of the global brand, says who we are, what we do and where we are going Develop content that illustrate World Visions evidence of impact demonstrating that we do what we say we do High-value strategic content is leveraged across audiences and platforms, especially for public and donor engagement
Development Communications & Public Engagement Be responsible for the design and development of content to streamline internal communications processes and procedures to enhance the support of the Communications department whilst supporting the content and create function. Undertake reputation risk management and emergency communications with oversight from line manager Undertake review of Project Communications strategies to include development communication and processes
Internal Staff Engagement Using various media platforms to design approaches, tactics, and products/resources to achieve development objectives (e.g. behavior change communication, community mobilization, etc.) Undertake public engagement in aligned communications, advocacy and marketing, including ending violence against children and disaster response Behavior change initiatives are strategic and contribute to the development objectives of programs/projects Oversee and champion procedures and methods used to inform and engage employees inside a company using several channels and methods including brief notes, newsletters, and other sources. Manage the INTRANET website on behalf of the communications department by managing content
Project Communications Support Support project communications with drafting of communications strategies aligned to the WVPNG branding 101 standards. Ensuring BCC design component in communications strategies of Project Communications Advise and support with BCC and IEC development of publications
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION/SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE Degree in Communications, Development Communication, Media, Journalism, Arts or similar At least 3-5 years experience advanced communications technical skills such as photo and video production, editorial, graphic design, and media relations Minimum of 2-3 years developing behaviour change communication strategies and publications Advanced level of computer proficiency, Mac and PC, including editing skills across Adobe and Apple software for video, photo, media, design Experience with managing internal communication strategies and managing on INTRANET and INTERNET platforms Thorough knowledge of the communication and media industry Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills MUST be a team player and good team spirit and have experience working with children and youth
