Communications Intern for Accelerator Lab Mongolia Background
The Accelerator Labs are UNDPs new way of working in development. The labs will transform our collective approach by introducing new services, backed by evidence and practice, and by accelerating the testing and dissemination of solutions within and across countries. Sense-making, collective intelligence, solutions mapping, and experimentation will be part of the new offer from UNDP to governments.
Together with national and global partners, 90 labs serving 116 countries will work together to find radically new approaches that fit the complexity of current development challenges. The labs will analyze challenges within local contexts to identify connections and patterns in search of new avenues of work to act effectively in addressing wicked development challenges.
The intern will work with the Accelerator Lab Mongolia to develop and deploy Accelerator Lab methodologies to address development challenges in Mongolia. Under the Communication scope of work from July 2021... onwards, interns will focus in supporting the effort to convene innovation partners in growing solutions through innovation challenges and matching of impact investments and global network with local innovators. Interns will also be involved in supporting implementation of projects related to digital literacy and smart city initiatives under waste management and mobility.

Assist in coordinating with the Accelerator Lab Assist in the teaching and dissemination of Accelerator Lab work and studies Assist in communications and publicity
Assist in data collection and management, including identifying unusual or untapped data sources
Assist in liaising with communities, innovation partners and entrepreneurs for knowledge exchange and scaling opportunities Assist in documentation and presentation of Accelerator Lab project learnings
Project and programme support
Assist in event management and logistics Assist in project concept development and implementation Assist in volunteer recruitment, management and mobilization Support other/ad hoc activities as seen relevant and needed
Knowledge and a proficient user of Microsoft Office productivity tools; Familiarity with graphic and web design, communication material development, and/or social media tools and platforms is an advantage; Mongolian and English required; Communicates effectively when working in teams and independently; Interest and motivation in working in an international organization; Good analytical skills in gathering and consolidating data and research for practical implementation; Outgoing and proactive, initiative-taking person with a goal oriented mind-set; Displays cultural, gender, religion, race, nationality and age sensitivity and adaptability; Consistently approaches work with energy and a positive, constructive attitude.
Required Skills and Experience
Education: Candidates must meet one of the following educational requirements:
Currently in the final year of a Bachelors degree; or Currently enrolled in a Masters degree; or Have graduated no longer than 1 year ago from a bachelors or masters degree or equivalent studies; or Enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship programme and undertake the internship as part of this programme.
