Gender Expert for National Womens Business Agendas for Central... Bishkek National Womens Business Agendas for Central Asia program is a two-year project, which aims to improve the business enabling environments for women in the Central Asian economies of the Kyrgyz Republic, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan, with engagement of women participants from Turkmenistan. The program, led by the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), in partnership with the ABA Rule of Law Initiative (ABA ROLI) and Search for Common Ground (Search), funded by the U.S. Department of State, Secretarys Office of Global Womens Issues. The proposed program, aims to support women-led business and civil society organizations in the four target countries to join efforts with other key stakeholders to collectively advance economic opportunities for women and enable them to lead more resilient and independent lives. CIPE, ABA ROLI, and Search will implement the program alongside local civil society partners identified in each target country and others identified during... the project launch. The program plans to improve the business-enabling environment for women in the Central Asian economies by reducing legal and societal barriers to Womens Economic Empowerment (WEE) through collective action. The program supports two objectives: 1) to strengthen the capacity of Women's Business Associations (WBAs), Women's Civil Society Organizations (WCSOs), and other key stakeholders in the private sector and civil society to identify and address barriers to Womens Economic Empowerment in Central Asian countries, and 2) to foster collaboration among WBAs, WCSOs, and other key stakeholders to develop and advocate National Womens Business Agendas (NWBAs).
Location: Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, or Kazakhstan (covering all four countries) Period of contract: 176 consultancy days between June 15, 2021 to January 30, 2022
General Requirements The gender expert will be involved in all phases of the project, especially during designing and implementing creative positive messaging campaigns to distribute the NWBAs and showcase women entrepreneurs as role models in society, building the capacity of Steering Committee members to advance this messaging. The main task of the gender expert will be to provide technical inputs and advise the project team in the implementation of project activities and the creation of media content taking into account gender sensitivity and mainstreaming in the context of each of the countries. The gender expert will also advise members of the projects Steering Committee of 4 countries on the promotion of National Business Agendas for each country, taking into account its peculiarities. Develop trainings, tutorials, templates and guidelines as needed during the project and support internal staff capacity building on gender mainstreaming in peacebuilding programs.
