The Autodesk International Communications team is on a mission to curate and communicate stories showcasing the best of Autodesks brand stories focused on our business strength, innovation, impact, people and purpose. To this end we are looking for a Japanese Communications Manager to join our team of seasoned communicators to help take our brand communications programme to the next level. If you have a passion for helping companies and journalists tell stories about walking cars for exploring the moon, sustainable skis made from algae and homes of the future being built in factories, or whatever else our designed and built future may hold, we want to talk with you about joining our team.
This position reports to the Director of International Communications who is based in London, UK.
Responsibilities Work as a member of the International Communications team to drive brand awareness and affinity for Autodesk in Japan Help to... communicate locally relevant stories focused on innovation and impact through strategic media relations, reputation management and executive engagements Contribute to the development of brand-level and technology communications strategy, tactics and content for earned, owned and social media Collaborate with the Geo Brand Marketer for Japan to ensure we prioritise the right activities and drive integrated brand campaigns in the market Build a strong reputation with internal stakeholders to identify and develop news announcements and customer stories that help advance the Autodesk brand and align with our strategic goals and intent Manage a PR agency including budgets, activities and ongoing assessment of performance Contribute to improving earned media performance by tracking, analysing and drawing insights from data to inform and adjust our media strategies Manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously Stay abreast of technology trends, media movements, and competitor activity to find opportunities to advance our narrative Be proactive about seeking out and/or suggesting ideas for better ways to tell our stories Confidently bring your whole self to work every day, where you learn from, teach to, and genuinely enjoy engaging with a diverse, intelligent and passionate team thats proud of its role shaping the Autodesk brand
Minimum Qualifications 8 years of relevant work experience at a PR/marketing agency or in a relevant in-house role Bachelors degree in communications, journalism, marketing or a related field Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proven ability to build and manage relationships with company stakeholders, executives, journalists and external partners Strong organizational and project management skills Flexibility and ability to multitask Budget management Ability to work in a matrixed organisation that requires a level of autonomy and accountability Ability to take complex technical stories and transform them into stories which excite our audiences and raise awareness for the brand versus product Excellent time management skills and the ability to juggle and prioritise multiple projects A good knowledge of the media landscape in Japan spanning business and trade media. Personal relationships with top journalists a plus While this role operates during normal business hours, the candidate may be required to join early morning or late evening calls with the Director of International Comms in London as well as colleagues based in the US (PT time zone) Travel is minimal, less than 10%. Experience of enterprise technology such as MS Office, Teams, Slack, Zoom etc.
