KPMG in Jamaica is seeking to hire a talented, highly motivated Snr. Programmer Analyst to join our growing IT Services Department in Kingston, Jamaica.
The Snr. Programmer Analyst is part of the central IT Services Delivery team with a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of IT solutions in alignment with business needs. The role requires competency in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecyle (SDLC) from requirements gathering and analysis through to design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance. This individual will also provide mentoring, support and guidance to the Programmer/Analysts role.
Roles and Responsibilities Consults with internal clients to analyze and understand functions to be automated, client needs, business objectives, desired features, security and privacy controls. Acts as an internal consultant providing technical guidance on business systems projects. Analyzes, defines and documents system requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls and outputs. Document and track issues and corrective measures taken for future reference. Develop and maintain user manuals and guidelines. Provide classroom and on-the-job training as appropriate, to users on packaged and bespoke applications. Assist in defining software development project plans, including scoping, scheduling, and implementation. Assess system capabilities and undertake feasibility studies that include financial considerations and time lines. Contribute to and apply strict compliance to KPMG published IT standards. Provides guidance to lower-level programmers and systems specialists. Liaise with the extended ITS team locally, regionally and overseas. Keeping up-to-date with innovative technologies and trends in the world of information technology. Other duties as required.
All duties are required to be performed with a high level of attention to detail and sometimes under time constraints to meet specified deadlines.
Skills and Qualifications
Technical Skills B.Sc. in Computer Science, MIS or similar field 5 years experience in business applications analysis and development
Experience Understanding of coding standards and best practices Knowledgeable in common programming languages, frameworks and design patterns such as Microsoft .NET, Visual Basic, C#, ASP .Net, MVC, bootstrap, jquery, AJAX, JSON Adept at the development and execution of test plans and debugging Management and maintenance of source code within an enterprise source control system Design and development of relational databases Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server Authoring reports using Crystal Reports, SQL Server Reporting Services and modern visualization tools such as PowerBI Prior experience interviewing end-users for insight on functionality, interface, problems, and/or usability issues
