Background

iMMAP-TPM is currently Monitoring and verifying Conventional Weapons Destruction (CWD) activities in Iraq at regularly scheduled intervals to confirm the accuracy of implementing partners’ (IPs) reports submitted to the donor, as well as IPs compliance with the terms and conditions of their respective agreements or contracts. ic

Description of Duties

The... Operations Officer is responsible for all assigned tasks by Southern Regional Coordinator to accomplish the following:

Ø Conducts verification visits, monitoring, and evaluation on designated implementing partners' ongoing and completed task sites on a quarterly or annual basis.

Ø Engage local communities, affected by implementing partners’ activities to verify CWD and MRE activities and conduct M&E to determine whether the activities have improved the quality of life, increased access to basic social services, and economic opportunities.

Ø Preparing Monitoring and Evaluation Reports/update on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

Ø Assist in the timely preparation of data analysis at the regional level and share with RC for consolidation of internal and external reports.

Ø Assess the impact of CWD and MRE activities on cross-cutting issues of gender and disaggregation of data by sex and age.

Ø Consider the stakeholder's need including beneficiaries’ suggestions/opinions on what needed to be improved or done differently by TPM.

Ø Ensure to conduct after-action reviews after site visits and include the same in your daily/weekly reports to the Regional Coordinator (RC).

Ø Ensure field visits for data collection and validation through post-distribution monitoring, focus group discussions, and key informant interviews.

Ø Assist in the development and design of the TPM M&E System.

Ø Work closely with IPs to ensure that project-relevant information is shared promptly.

Ø Report any capacity gap on an ongoing basis as it relates to TPM M&E processes.

Ø Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Regional Coordinator, Project Manager TPM, and Country representative.

Requirements

Ø Knowledge and understanding of Mine Action mandates and operations.

Ø Capacity to produce coherent and good quality reports.

Ø Capacity to think critically, collect, collate, and analyses quantitative and qualitative data.

Ø General computer skills (use of MS Office package, Internet)

Ø Strong inter-personal and communication skills.

Ø Excellent management skills

Ø Ability to work under pressure and long hours at different locations.

Ø Flexible and adaptable to any situation.

Ø Self-reliant and able to work independently.

Academic Qualifications/Experience/Language
• Bachelor’s Degree in monitoring and evaluation, social sciences, humanitarian and/or development studies, or any relevant field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience within the Mine Action and preferably sociology and M&E.
• Previous experience in either program implementation, coordination, analysis, or monitoring and evaluation is essential.
• Experience in working in complex and volatile contexts.
• experience in using the kobo collect tool
• Good working knowledge of English and Arabic (written and spoken).
