The salary range will be £36,028 £43,533 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance Reference: 1877303 Applications are invited for a Research Fellow to join the group of Professor Barbara Conradt in the Research Department of Cell and Developmental Biology.
The main purpose of the position is to assist in the development, planning and delivery of research activities for the BBSRC funded project Reciprocal interactions between apoptosis pathway and cell size.
The successful individual will have specialised knowledge and is expected to produce independent original contributions to the project. The successful individual will become an active member of the Conradt group and the larger C. elegans community in the Division of Biosciences, Faculty of... Life Sciences at UCL and will contribute to cutting-edge biomedical research in the areas of animal development, apoptosis and cell size.
In addition to designing and conducting the research, the successful candidate will communicate results as scientific papers and in scientific presentations at local, national and international conferences.
The post is funded by BBSRC and is available for 3 years in the first instance with possibility of extension.
PhD (or be studying towards it) in biology, cell and developmental biology, biophysics, molecular biology, biochemistry or a related discipline.
Please note: Appointment at Grade 7 is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD; if this is not the case, initial appointment will be at research assistant Grade 6B (Salary £31,542 £33,257 per annum, including London Allowance) with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD thesis (including corrections).
