Manager of Financial Control London What is the opportunity?
You will be responsible for all areas relating to the integrity of the general ledger and will be responsible for developing and maintaining the control environment, practices and procedures to ensure effective risk mitigation. You will be required to work to tight deadlines and complete a multitude of accounting activities including month end review and approval in accordance with IFRS, head office reporting, ensuring key reconciliations are produced and appropriate attestations are completed. You will also be responsible for working closely with the business and functional partners where issues are identified to ensure appropriate actions plans are implemented and managed effectively in accordance.
What will you do? Identify and deliver process enhancements to generate real benefits to the team and free up time to focus on Value Adding activities Review and approval of journals ensuring impact of journal is in accordance with reporting requirements... with sufficient evidence and explanation First line review of relevant general ledger to ensure integrity and accuracy of data and production of commentary to support ledger integrity and the Flash process Head Office Reporting and change Initiatives Ensure key control reconciliations and Standards of Documentation SOD packages are produced and reviewed in line with policy Ensure monitoring and resolution of all reconciliation breaks and review points by development and implementation of appropriate action plans within agreed timescales Ensure key schedules are prepared accurately for audited financial statements Management of internal and external audit processes
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have Qualified accountant or relevant accounting experience in a similar senior role Strong technical accounting skills Previous experience in people management Strong Microsoft Excel Skills and excellent analytical reporting skills
Nice-to-have An awareness of the Regulatory Environment Multiple stakeholder management skills Previous experience in a financial control environment Strong interpersonal and communication skills
