Area Sales Manager, Northern UK (Leeds, United Kingdom)
Job Summary and Primary Responsibilities Responsible for selling the company's implantable medical devices to hospitals, clinics, and physicians as appropriate. Provides support, training and/or guidance during actual procedures or surgeries. Essential Responsibilities: Achieves quota for the territory and portfolio sales in the majority of assigned accounts while achieving incremental sales growth month over month Drives, maintains and actively establishes customer relationships in order to sell the entire portfolio (mix) of company products to 75% of active hospital accounts Engages sales representatives to provide training and build skills/confidence of surgeons on the product portfolio Establishes training facilities, centers of excellence, and VSP sites in territory Directly supervises assigned sales representatives in territory development, including interviewing, hiring, training, career development, assigning, and directing work Presents clear vision for success and conveys... this clearly to his/her direct reports, peers and leadership team Actively pursues and closes capital equipment sales Conducts 2-3 day field visits/territory on active/scheduled basis and provides written feedback Performs other duties as assigned *The Area Sales Manager can reside anywhere in Northern United Kingdom Required Skills / Capabilities Provide after-hours and weekend case support, as necessary Proficient and accurate with word processing (Word), spreadsheets (Excel), charting, flow-charting, and graphs Ability to solve and interpret problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstracts and/or concrete variables Be qualified for and maintain privileges at all required hospitals Education and Experience Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelors degree; or 8 years and a Masters degree; or a PhD with 5 years experience; or equivalent experience in the UK or other western European market Preferred minimum of 5 years experience within the medical device industry, preferably in spine, orthopedics or emerging technologies Preferred minimum of 3 years experience in Sales leadership Demonstrated success establishing and managing surgeon and KOL relationships Proven experience creating and executing bottoms up business plans tied to strategic, regional objectives Preferred experience partnering with S&OP organization to optimize fulfillment Travel and/or Physical Requirements Able to travel up to 95
