Applications are invited for the position of Clinical Fellow in Medical Retina within our thriving Ophthalmology Department at Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within the Royal Eye Unit where our multidisciplinary team see around 15, 000 patients per year. We offer a full range of hospital eye care services including specialist outpatient clinics, admitted care and an acute referral service for eye emergencies.
This is a substantive appointment based in the Royal Eye Unit at Kingston Hospital. The post is full time, 10 PAs per week with no additional on-call Rota participation.
The weekly timetable includes responsibility for the day to day management of retina ophthalmology patients, carrying out assessment and treatment of patients in the urgent eye care clinic, a full range of specialist glaucoma out-patient eye clinics and general ophthalmology out-patient clinics. In addition, the post holder may contribute to the continuing management of in patients admitted to the hospital, with the opportunity to support delivery of surgical services.
The service-line has regular educational meetings and actively supports opportunities for personal development of appointed staff. The post holder will be expected to participate in the postgraduate teaching of medical staff and undergraduates attached to the Trust and in the training of all grades of staff.
Candidates must hold full registration and license with the GMC.

Salary : For applicants without prior NHS experience at the same Pay Band or higher, the salary will start at the lower value within the advertised range and increase every year up to the maximum value within the banding (subject to review meetings).
For those with NHS experience, we do not match inner London HCAS. If you are hired within a lower band, your salary will not be matched, instead your previous years of service will be taken into consideration.
