Associate Specialist in Adult Psychiatry Hereford Job Description
Associate Specialist in Adult Psychiatry
East Herefordshire PCN (Ledbury)
Herefordshire & Worcestershire Health & Care Trust provides Mental Health and specialist Learning Disability services across the counties of Herefordshire and Worcestershire (and community services in Worcestershire). The Trust has been rated overall as 'Good' by the CQC for the second consecutive time, with some services recently being rated as 'Outstanding' (CAMHS & Rehabilitation services). With a number of staff health and wellbeing initiatives and a culture of support and encouragement, the Trust has established itself as an organisation which recognises and celebrates the work of its medical staff.
Herefordshire offers excellent living and working prospects. Nearby are the Wye Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty; the Forest of Dean; the Malvern Hills; and the Brecon Beacons National Park; with easy access to the M5 and M50. Bristol, Birmingham, Cardiff and Cheltenham are all... within easy reach of Herefordshire. The area also has the benefit of outstanding schools and a rich cultural life. Surrounding the small city of Hereford there are many attractive villages set in beautiful countryside and five busy historic market towns.
In October 2019 the Herefordshire & Worcestershire STP were successful in securing substantial funding to pilot transformation of generic community services. We are one of only 12 NHSE/I Early Implementer sites nationally; the intention being to completely transform community services and test out new ways to deliver community mental health care to adults; better integrated with, and aligned around, emerging Primary Care Networks. The CCG have agreed recurrent funding beyond the initial 2 year pilot phase. The funding equates to an uplift in staffing of circa 21 WTEs for Herefordshire alone; including an uplift from 4.0 to 6.0 WTE consultants and 1.4 to 2.0 WTE Specialty Doctors.
We are therefore looking to recruit to a new post 10PA (1.0 WTE) Associate Specialist post working within the newly expanded and transformed services in Herefordshire. The post will be embedded within a multidisciplinary team; each aligned to one of the 5 Primary Care Networks in Herefordshire. The main responsibilities of the posts are outlined in the Job Descriptions.
Consideration will be given to those applicants looking for flexibility with working arrangements or number of sessions.
