Band 6 Full time/Part time
An exciting opportunity has arisen for Registered Mental Health Nurses, Social Workers or Occupational Therapists to join our recently established Neighbourhood Mental Health Teams (NMHTs'). The NMHTs' are at the forefront of providing accessible mental health care, integrating both primary and secondary mental health services into a combined service, in line with NHS Long Term Plan objectives.
There are five neighbourhood locality teams and the advertised posts are based in various locations within Hereford City, Leominster, Ross-on-Wye and Ledbury with the precise location of successful candidates to be agreed with the recruiting manager taking into consideration individual preference.
Each Neighbourhood Mental Health Team is comprised of mental health practitioners... (nurses, occupational therapists and/or social workers) support workers, a clinical psychologist and a consultant psychiatrist. Additionally, the teams are supported by link workers and Individual Placement and Support specialists from Mind and Landau with the aim of providing a holistic, recovery focused service to those who access the service. The teams are close-knit and supportive with regular MDT meetings, group supervisions facilitated by psychology and team away-days.
Role Requirements Significant experience as a registered professional working in community mental healthcare environments The ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels Working flexibly to provide the service delivery need across the county (the service operates from 9 am - 5 pm, Monday to Friday excluding bank holidays) An enthusiastic, motivated and innovative thinker The ability to work autonomously to manage your own case load whilst working within a multi-disciplinary team The ability to problem solve and manage time effectively Experience of working in a fast paced and varied environment The ability to travel county-wide to deliver care services
Day to Day elements
Aspects of the role would also include: close working within primary care centres, undertaking mental health needs assessments, management of risk, providing support to other professionals and to those in a caring role in addition to the supervision of junior staff including students.
