PMLD Teacher Coleford Five Education are working with a special needs school based in the Forest of Dean who requires a qualified KS3 Class Teacher to work on a full-time basis until the end of the school year. The successful applicant will have previous experience teaching students with Learning Disabilities, for example, Downs Syndrome or Cerebral Palsy. No planning is required.
This role will start ASAP.
Responsibilities and duties: Delivering lessons to KS3 students in class, working alongside a tailored curriculum Catering to students sensory and physical needs Supporting students in lessons using methods such as phonics and PECS Working with students at a range of disability levels Assisting students with moving and handling Support students to develop socially, making friends etc
Essential Criteria: At least 12 months of experience supporting children At least 6 months of recent experience teaching children with PMLD Experience using methods such as phonics and PECS would be an... advantage Experience assisting students with moving and handling would be an advantage A therapeutic and mindful approach Have a right to work in the UK (A Valid Visa) Two recent child based references and relevant DBS/ Police checks Able to work from 08:30 to 15:30, 5 days per week term time only
