Nordex Finland is now looking for a Head of Service, this role will be based in Finland. In this role you will be leading a growing team of 70+ employees across the country from Sodankylä to Helsinki. You will be responsible for the complete service area business performance, budgeting, planning and development of your team all while ensuring that operations are flowing safely and efficiently. YOUR TASKS

In this role your responsibility is to deliver good business performance from all Service operations in Finland in a safe and efficient manner. To support you in this effort you have a committed group of Service/Lead Technicians lead by 2 Local Operations Managers, capable Service back office team, driven experts in Account Management and other departments in the Nordic region. Your main internal interfaces include the QHSE team, People & Culture team and the Project Management (PM) department with whom you together ensure a smooth handover of projects from PM to Service. Outside our organisation you external stakeholders include naturally our clients, subcontractors, local authorities and other service providers.

In more detail your role responsibilities include:
• Actively engaging in and developing safety topics and lead towards an excellent safety culture
• Develop personnel plans and strategy for the country based on the approved budget headcount and pipeline of projects
• Review and drive the country operational performance
• Optimise the service delivery efficiency in the Service area
• Develop and set the Finland service budget in co-operation with Service Director and Commercial department
• Identify, highlight, track and mitigate Commercial and Operational risks
• Managing of the Account Management team in Finland
• Support in development of improvement measures and business plans for the area/region
• First point of contact for escalated customer issues and claims
• Drive after sales business in Finland in co-operation with Account Managers
• Responsible for the local Service Points in cooperation with the Local Operation Managers
• Providing consultation to Service Sales department regarding relevant local topics for new tenders
• Close cooperation with other departments in the region (HSE, PM, P&C, SALES)
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives for Regional service business
• Commercial and technical customer negotiations

YOUR PROFILE

To succeed in this role you need to have a safety first – mind-set, experience and confidence in strategic planning and decision making as well as a track record of delivering good results and driving change. You have experience in leading a team and feel at home both in negotiations with the client as well as engaging with your team members at service points or wind farms. You communicate naturally and effectively at all levels of the organisation and in English which is our official work language. Finnish knowledge is a plus but not a requirement. What we however consider to be a clear advantage is that if you have prior experience in working in Finland and are familiar with the Finnish / Scandinavian HSE and employment environment.

The above list is already a lot, we know, but as we get to now paint the picture of our ideal candidate we took the liberty to list still a few things we feel are important below. You don’t need to tick all these boxes but most of them would be ideal for us.
• Minimum 5 years’ Experience in the wind industry or similar sector in a leadership role
• Experience of responsibility for P&L in a business unit
• Formal qualifications in Mechanical and / or Electrical Engineering (Bachelor or Master’s degree) or equivalent an advantage
• Experience of working in matrix organisations
• Significant experience in customer management WITH strong customer focus
• Flexible and stress resistant
• Excellent planning, organizing and prioritizing skills
• Entrepreneurial thinker
• Willingness to travel (20-30%)
