Research Scientist/ Postdoctoral researcher, modelling of forest... Helsinki Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke) has an open position for a research scientist/ postdoctoral researcher in a multidisciplinary research group, which develops sustainable climate-smart ecosystem management practices. The group analyses effects of forest management practices on soil processes and microbiota, relationship between vegetation and soil properties, and production of multiple ecosystem services at stand and regional scale.
The work includes data analyses (incl. microbial community data) and/or model development with an aim to understand effect of current and future forest management regimes on forest soil and vegetation, and provision of ecosystem services. The researcher will participate on studies where forest simulators are coupled with soil models and applied for analyses of soil processes and provision of ecosystem services incl. timber production, forest carbon and greenhouse gas fluxes.
