Experimental Particle Physicist Barcelona We are a deep tech spin off from the Institute of High Energy Physics (IFAE) in Catalunya, Spain looking for a PhD physicist with 2 years post doctoral research to join our experienced founder team in Barcelona.
You will lead our applied research in x-ray interaction and detection physics in order to keep transforming the science of high energy physics to the benefits sought by Industry companies in manufacturing, agriculture and security. You will be a key player working at the forefront of solving detection and measurement challenges for fast moving inspection lines to enhance safety and sustainable manufacture.
Experimental Particle Physicist
Run experimental X-Ray setups with solid-state detector instrumentation
Experience with Geant 4 / GAMS for multi energy x-ray simulations
Program and run use case simulations to optimise hardware configurations
Data analysis and coding in ROOT and C/C++; knowledge of Python and MATLAB
Creative exploitation of multi-spectral... x-ray absorption data
Continuous improvement of detection strategies & characterisation of materials
Collaboration on hardware and software design for performance optimisation
Participate in client demonstrations and industry showcases
Support resolution of technical issues in the field
Offer Requirements REQUIRED LANGUAGES ENGLISH: Excellent
