The Print Production Manager will oversee all facets of print production Quality Assurance (QA) for packaging and point-of-purchase collateral (POP) for a leading manufacturer and marketer of world-class innovative juvenile products. The Print Production Manager is a... technical expert and will be the point person who has ownership in, and governs the technical aspects of the print production process for printed packaging, including digital proofing, prepress, on-site press checks or off site sample evaluations, color print proofing, print production, running changes, tracking key performance indicators, vendor relations with the objective for results to be both accurate and consistent. The Print Production Manager will also evaluate packaging facilities and monitor quality performance to strengthen supplier pool. The Print Production Manager will interact with a highly creative, cross-functional team in China, Hong Kong, and USA, including Package Designers, Marketing, Sales, Legal, Product Integrity, Engineering, Operations, Logistics, and outside vendors in order to achieve Kids2 objectives as relates to the production of packaging and merchandising of our products.
Primary Responsibilities And Essential Functions Assist in defining and managing materials and printing specifications for packaging, Boxes, POP, Bags. Specifications will include, minimum material requirements, material brightness of paper stocks, color profiles, proofing systems, color-space, and spectrophotometric digital color proofing readings Monitor and manage relationship with vendors and perform on-site press checks Evaluate metrics and vendor performance, source Asia resources Document and communicate information in monthly/quarterly reports Drive continual process improvements that are repeatable, predictable, systematic using LEAN-manufacturing techniques Strategize packaging quality improvement processes and distinguish efficiencies Supervise and facilitate print testing supporting brand development Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications & Experience 7-10 years experience in packaging print production. Extensive packaging print production experience including but not limited to lithographic and flexo printing, structural engineering, packaging production, international prepress, press quality assurance, color calibration, color standardization, structural integrity, adhesion standards, audit and evaluate samples, packaging warehouse storage and distribution standards, transit packaging testing procedures, spectrophotometer digital calibrated proofing. Must have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Must have the ability to work effectively in a fast paced, high energy and highly creative environment. Must be able to work independently, often with little supervision and to be resourceful in seeking information and answers to questions that arise. Strong knowledge and experience working in, and collaborate with, both American and Asian creative and production teams speaking English and Mandarin Chinese, preferably in a corporate environment for a company producing consumer products. Must be business savvy to the extent that he/she acknowledges and seeks to optimize his/her role in developing and marketing world class, innovative products. Experience in problem solving and troubleshooting to resolve structural, material, technical and process issues
Education & Skills Bachelor degree in Arts or Graphics Design or equivalent work experience Ability to execute and excel in high-paced organization Prior experience in building global relationships and a collaborative team environment Ability to deal with changing environments, tight timelines and multiple priorities Outstanding oral and presentation-based communication skills
