About the Opportunity:
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Camp Maintenance Supervisor to join the Brucejack Mine in Northwestern, British Columbia.
The Camp Maintenance Supervisor position is located at Pretium Resources Inc.'s "Pretivm" Brucejack Mine, BC and reports directly to the Maintenance Superintendent or designate.
The Camp Maintenance Supervisors primary responsibility is to oversee and direct camp maintenance services as it pertains to... Brucejack camps including the newly constructed camp facilities and all other camp facilities in and around Brucejack Mine. The incumbent is also responsible for ensuring that equipment & materials are readily available and that all work is performed safely and in keeping with rules, regulations & policies.
The Camp Maintenance Supervisors crew consists of Carpenters, Plumbers, Gas Fitters, Refrigeration Mechanics and Laborers.
Responsibilities will include: Ensure safety is given highest priority and document/report any related safety incidents or infractions. Lead daily toolbox meetings and ensure the development of job hazard analysis (JHAs) to ensure compliance with Pretivm Inc.s Health & Safety policies. Identifies specific safety hazards that will be encountered in the performance of the proposed work. Review daily work plans with team and assess job priorities. Work together with schedulers and planners to ensure that proper planning and scheduling of activities are accomplished throughout the camp facilities. Work closely with camp facility team leads including kitchen staff and camp facility personal. Consult/collaborate with Contractors and relevant site management teams to communicate daily activities & assign appropriate personnel to specific tasks as required. Communicate with site logistics personnel to avoid conflicting transportation/supply issues. Monitor work projects to ensure progress runs smoothly assessing/addressing challenges or possible changes to the plan. Troubleshoot operational issues/problems and provide guidance to maintenance personnel and work crews to resolve the situation. Evaluate contract/crew performance and make recommendations for change where required. Assist with training & development of employees giving clear directions as to project goals to ensure project objectives are completed on schedule. Review budget allocations while tracking & recording Labour, Equipment and Materials costs. Notifies Management of any shortcomings in execution of planned work. Other related duties as required.
Qualifications: The incumbent must have the highest regard for Safety and respect for the environment. Relevant experience in camp facility maintenance with at least five (5) years of experience managing maintenance activities in an industrial or mine planning environment while leading a multidisciplinary trade group. The incumbent must have demonstrated facility maintenance experience combined with strong demonstrated leadership, supervisory and conflict resolution expertise. Interprovincial (Red Seal) certification in a relevant trade would be considered an asset. Industrial Supervisor Training/Certification would be considered an asset. Experience with maintenance related software modules such as JD-Edwards, SAP is an asset.
Skills: Strong demonstrated knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures. Strong working knowledge of relevant equipment capabilities. Excellent oral and written communication skills (English) A team player and able work with tight deadlines. Computer software skills (i.e. word processing, spreadsheet, MS Project etc.) Analytical, problem solving and time management skills.
Additional Information: Work at remote location (camp) on a rotation of 13 days on, 13 days off and 2 travel days. Able to pass a pre-employment medical screening. Able to provide a clean drivers abstract. Be able maintain high levels of performance over 12-hour shifts. Able to work in areas of extreme weather conditions.
