Title: Human Resources AdministratorReports to: Director, Human ResourcesLocation: 18 Cabot Lane, Inverness, NS, B0E 1N0Job Type: Full Time PermanentBuilt by dreamers, for dreamers.As the Human Resources Administrator at Cabot, your primary responsibility is to meet and assist both employees and guests courteously and efficiently by giving a warm welcome, handling requests efficiently, and exceeding their expectations.Core Accountabilities:
Act as the first point of contact for all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests
Maintain both hard and electronic copies of employee records
Assist with recruitment process; posting vacancies, conducting reference checks, and issuing employment contracts
Participate in recruitment events including in-person and virtual career fairs
Assist with performance management procedures
Coordinate training sessions and HR led events
Conduct new employee orientations
Assist with data entry in HRIS for bi-weekly payroll... Includes new hires, changes and departures.
Assist with benefits administration. Includes enrolling new members, updating changes and departures.
Assist with preparing employee communications through internal social media accounts and monthly newsletter
Assist in leading the Joint Occupational Health and Safety committee, taking meeting minutes and assigning action items
Assist with injury reporting to Workers Compensation and preparing return to work plan
Office administration; maintain appropriate levels of office supplies, mail pick up and drop off, photocopying, scanning documents
Foster and promote positive employee relations through an environment that encourages open communication, trust, and mutual respect
Ensure the HR department complies with all corporate, regional, and hotel policies and procedures; and governmental regulations pertaining to all employees
Adhere to all policies, procedures, and service standards
Other projects and duties as assigned by managementQualifications:
Bachelors degree or diploma in Human Resources (or a related field) is essential
2 Years of experience in HR is essential
Exposure to payroll practices
Full understanding of HR functions and best practices
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Works well under pressure and meets deadlines
Highly responsible and able to handle confidential information with the utmost discretion
Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
Computer literacy with a strong knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, and PowerPoint, and a basic knowledge of Adobe and a HRIS
