- $96,759 Work location: Melbourne | CBD An exciting opportunity is available to join the Policy and Projects team at the Australia New Zealand Policing Advisory Agency (ANZPAA) as a Policy and Research Officer to assist police leaders prepare for the future. The Policy and Projects team sits within the Strategy Directorate and is responsible for the development, review and implementation of cross-jurisdictional policies and strategic documents, and education and training products relating to a range of contemporary policing issues. The Policy and Research Officer (Officer) is responsible for supporting the successful achievement of the ANZPAA Strategy and Business Plan and works across a range of work items in support of the ANZPAA Board (Board) and Australia New Zealand Council for Police Professionalisation (ANZCoPP/the Council). The position assists with research, development of innovative solutions, management of policy projects and supports workshop and consultation meetings. The position is responsible for preparing briefings, reports, presentations and manages the administration of policy projects where required. Previous experience in public service and an understanding of the Vocational Education and Training sector is highly desirable, although not mandatory. The Policy and Research Officer will have a proven ability to identify and address complex problems and a willingness to learn and engage with unfamiliar subject matter. They will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and can build trusting relationships with stakeholders. Successful applicants will demonstrate: a desire to work in changing and challenging environments the ability to actively engage innovative, creative and original thinking a capacity for collaborating and supporting a high performing team culture the ability to facilitate workshops experience working with senior executives and leaders. The position is a full-time fixed term position until 30 June 2021. The closing date for applications for this position is midnight 27 October 2020.
