Electrical Engineering Technician (BB-19084) Port Melbourne VIC
THE ROLE
The Electrical Engineering Technician (EET) is involved in the end-to-end development, commissioning and testing/reportingof electrical control systems software for bespoke machinery, including technical documentation writing.
Core Duties are:
- Perform testing, debugging and maintenance of electrical systems for bespoke machinery, including data collection, calculations, and reporting
- Configure, test and commission electrical and control systems equipment
- Undertake compliance checks in line with specifications and regulations
- Contribute to the electrical design of the controls systemsand system architecture
- Actively participate in software engineering, including PLC, HMI and database programming and application development
- Prepare and maintain documentation including specifications, diagrams, operator manuals, test plans and procedures
- Conduct research and development, where required
- Other duties within the scope of the role as required.
KEY SELECTION... CRITERIA
- Minimum 8 years demonstrated technical experience and competence in a Controls environment
- Experience in programming, commissioning, and testing Beckhoff industrial controllers and/or Ignition HMI platform is essential
- Thorough understanding of programming across a broad range of languages, including object-oriented programming
- Demonstrated advanced problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under minimal supervision either as an individual or part of a team
- Flexibility to adapt to evolving work demands and schedules
- Great communication skills including the ability to interpret and convey instructions and procedures
- Strong attention to detail
QUALIFICATIONS
- Tertiary qualification in relevant discipline (e.g. Electrical Engineering) or equivalent technical work experience
OTHER INFORMATION
- Salary range $90-110k base + super
- The Electrical Engineering Technician (EET) reports to the Chief Engineer
- During COVID we have some flexible working arrangements in place, however this role does require hands-on duties to be performed on-site. Exclusively working from home is not a feature of this role
- The Electrical Engineering Technician (EET) is expected to work our standard workshop hours of 7.30am 4.00pm, Monday through Friday with a degree of flexibility required.
- A current and valid passport is required. Creature Technology primarily works on international projects and the EET can expect that some overseas travel may be a feature of the role.
