Working in the Deakin Library, Collections, Copyright and Licensing division you work in a team of experts who are hardworking and highly knowledgeable. In this challenging role, you will contribute to the provision of high-quality information resources to the university community. The Metadata Team works to ensure the best possible discovery of and access to scholarly information that supports excellent learning, teaching, and research outcomes.
Your key responsibilities will include Oversee the provision of accurate and comprehensive metadata to support control and discovery of scholarly information provided by the Library. Develop and undertake metadata quality processes including review and development of appropriate record standards, resolve complex problems and act as a principal resource person, liaising with... Library colleagues and external vendors, on issues related to record provision and record quality standards. Develop and implement organisational strategies for record loading, synchronisation and maintenance of records from multiple sources. Oversee the creation of local records and provide comprehensive training and advice to staff engaged in record editing and creation. Undertake complex data analysis on request to provide management reports and statistics. Maintain a high level of awareness of current issues related to metadata standards and practices. This role has staffing responsibilities and must therefore ensure staff and own adherence to University policies and procedures, including but not limited to those relating to equal opportunity, occupational health and safety, risk and financial management, privacy, staff development and staff performance planning and review
