About Little Hall
Opening early 2021, Little Hall is a landmark student residence in Carlton made possible courtesy of generous donation by philanthropists Jane Hansen and Paul Little.
The residential hall is committed to provide both undergraduate and postgraduate students with a compelling academic enrichment program as well as social, cultural, sporting and volunteering opportunities. Little Hall will host recipients of the prestigious Hansen Scholarship, a scholarship providing financial support and free accommodation to high achieving students.
About the Role
As Dean of Academic Programs, you will support the Director of Little Hall in the planning, development and delivery of the Halls Academic Enrichment Program, including developing and... managing budgets.
You will lead the selection and management of the Halls cohort of academic tutors. You will also help promote the academic culture and standing of Little Hall within the Hall itself, on the campus of the University of Melbourne and beyond through developing strong relationships with student leaders, colleagues, stakeholders and staff, and with the wider community.
In this exciting opportunity, you will lead by example in realising the Halls distinctive commitment to research and scholarship, intellectual creativity, academic excellence, professional relevance and ethical integrity.
About you
Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will allow you to build effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels. You value collaboration and will have experience in managing and supporting others to create a shared sense of team purpose. You will have a good understanding of current best practice in fostering tertiary student wellbeing and a significant interest in residential student life.
You will further have:
Relevant post-graduate qualifications and significant academic standing as a scholar and educator in any field, as befits an appointment at Level C (Senior Lecturer) level.
An understanding of the role of academic skills programs in improving student outcomes.
The ability to take a leading role in the planning and delivery of an academic and mentoring program suited to the needs of undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Well-developed organisational, information technology, and administrative skills.
Exemplary personal qualities of integrity, intellect, presence and good judgment.
