North Western Program Alliance consists of four partners, working as one team collocated in the Alliances head and project offices. NWPA has a proven track record with the completion of four level crossing removal projects, a Premium station rebuild and 3 projects currently in delivery.
We are currently looking for an experienced safety coordinator to join the team. The successful candidate will have will have proactive approach with the ability to build relationships and influence safety outcomes with key stakeholders. As Safety Coordinator you will establish procedures and implement and monitor programs to provide a safety and healthy working environment. As Safety Coordinator you will be assisting the project leadership team in developing and implementing Health and Safety strategies and training for the desired workplace
Responsibilities of the role include;
Provide support, coordination and advice of HSE practices, systems and procedures within a defined workplace.
... Administer education and compliance programs for employees, contractors and visitors within a defined workplace.
Initiate and coordinate accredited training programs for occupational health and safety committee members and first aid officers
Conduct HSE audits and inspections
Identify hazards and event prevention programs
Provide direction and support to the Project Leadership Team to develop and implement adequate HSE training within defined workplaces
Implement occupational health and safety procedures
Coordinate the investigation of causes on site and maintain documentation in accordance with HSE procedures
To provide HSE specialist advice and technical input to delivery
Maintain records of all HSE requirements at the work place
Conduct return to work coordinator activities
To be considered for this role, it is essential that you demonstrate the following;
Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent
3 + years Construction WH&S or HSE experience
Implementation and monitoring permit to work system experience
Experience in WH&S/HSE management techniques and tools
- Ability to conduct and interpret audits and reviews
