About the role The Dispute Resolution practice group provides specialist expertise in resolving and managing disputes across many areas of law. It acts for regulatory agencies in enforcing the law, protects sensitive information from disclosure, defends government decisions and responds to claims made against the Commonwealth. It is often involved in the largest and most sensitive matters affecting the Australian Government. In this role you will: work on complex competition and consumer cases, financial services and corporate regulatory cases, or other regulatory litigation matters effectively represent Commonwealth agencies in dealings with other parties, witnesses and counsel provide a high standard of client service and maintain strong client relationships be part of the AGS Dispute Resolution team. About you This role will suit a dispute resolution lawyer with experience in complex competition and consumer law, financial services and corporate regulatory law, or other regulatory litigation. The successful candidate will ideally have: at least 5 years PQE expertise in regulatory litigation, the ability to clearly articulate technical arguments, draft advice, and frame and conduct Federal Court proceedings a proven track record in working closely with clients to achieve strong regulatory outcomes excellent interpersonal skills, negotiation skills and the ability to persuade.
