Economist (BB-43D65) Melbourne VIC Join this high profile State Government Department and as an Economist in the Energy Strategy Team where you will contribute to the investment in large-scale renewable energy generation in Victoria.
Your role is integral in providing detailed analysis and advice on complex market issues and consult with internal and external stakeholders. This role also has a particular focus on energy market economics and for undertaking quantitative and analytical support, as well as policy development.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing expertise in commercial economic and energy market modelling. - Review and analyse economic data. - Identify and undertake research on potential market issues to support evidence-based decision making on complex market issues. - Develop briefing material and reports. - Develop strong relationships and liaise with internal and external stakeholders. Requirements:
- An appropriate tertiary qualification/s in economics, econometrics, engineering... science or an energy related field is required. - Exposure to working on market regulation - Policy and research skills. - Expertise in commercial economic and energy market modelling is required - Experience in building relationships with both internal and external stakeholders - Ability to negotiate and deal with external providers Benefits to you:
