Established in 1856 as the people's university', State Library Victoria is Australia's oldest and busiest public library and the fourth most-visited library in the world, attracting those with curious minds and serious researchers alike. A place of learning and discovery for all Victorians, the Library houses items that showcase Victoria's cultural life, past and present, and makes them available through a range of services, exhibitions and cultural programs. It is home to more than two million books and thousands of newspapers as well as historic manuscripts, music, pictures and ephemera, with a focus on material from Victoria. Each year, more than 70,000 heritage items are added to its collection.
Key Responsibilities Develop and deliver high impact media strategies that build awareness, deepen audience engagement and drive onsite and online visitation Build and leverage strong... relationships with key media and influencers Coordinate complex media and influencer events Develop key media materials and stakeholder briefing notes to increase exposure for the Library
The Media Relations Adviser is accountable for the following measurable outcomes: Build brand exposure, profile and advocacy through high quality media coverage that extends audience reach and supports key projects, initiatives and events Increase media coverage reach and value YOY by developing compelling stories that can be amplified through owned and earned channels Strengthen media and influencer networks and leverage these to drive awareness and visitation through new platforms and new audiences Apply industry trends and insights to extend media reach and value
You Will Have
About you Significant experience in a similar field and tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, e.g. public relations, journalism, communications. State Library Victoria is a child-safe organisation. A valid Working with Children Check will be required before commencing.
