The Perioperative Services Department is currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the leadership team on a permanent part time basis.
The Perioperative Services department at Mater Private Hospital Townsville (MPHT) provides surgical services across 16 theatres, and caters for adults and paediatrics with a variety of surgical specialities. Over the course of 2021, we will be increasing our operational capacity to include an additional 4 theatres. MPHT boasts brand new state of the art theatre facilities, a catheterization laboratory, separate onsite day site surgery facilities as well as newly implemented robotic surgery involving the da Vinci Surgical System.
What youll be doing
As the Floor Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring... a safe, efficient and effective service is provided to patients and Visiting Medical Officers within Perioperative Services. This will be achieved by supporting the Theatre Manager to lead the theatre team, providing clinical expertise, direct support and education to staff within the department, human resources and financial management.
As someone with strong work ethic and self-motivation, you are able to adapt to a changing environment as we work together to deliver first class services. Alongside your caring and engaging manner, you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a passion for delivering patient centred care. You will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and maintaining good working relationships with others. Your will bring a capacity to lead and inspire a team of clinical professionals and act as a passionate mentor to junior staff.
Specialty experience within a relevant perioperative environment will be crucial for this role.
You will also have: Relevant qualifications and Registration with AHPRA A minimum of 5 years recent experience within a Perioperative setting Demonstrated leadership in a clinical setting Advanced knowledge and experience in a clinical area or speciality applicable to the unit Demonstrated advanced ability to communicate complex and challenging information constructively Relevant postgraduate qualifications will be highly regarded
