Challenge Recycling operates a Material Recovery Facility (MRF) that sorts materials received from the kerbside collection contractor and Tamworth Regional Councils rural landfill sites. Materials are... also sourced from local business houses and environmentally conscious residents.
Paper, cardboard, container glass, plastics, steel and aluminium cans are collected, sorted and packaged and forwarded to recycling companies such as Amcor, Visy and Impact Recycling. The MRF has been operating at this site since 1992 and has an annual output of approximately 10,000 tonnes.
The successful applicant may be required to support and working alongside the teams across other Challenge ADE business sites in Tamworth including Secure Scanning Solutions, Spare Hands Work Crew and Spare Hands Pack 'n' Mail. We have 2 opportunities available a full time permanent opportunity and a casual position.
Essential Criteria
Well developed written and oral communication skills
Ability to work alone or in a team without supervision
Ability to prioritise and problem solve situations
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and to plan each job to ensure maximum results for employees and customers.
Time management and organisational skills.
Mechanical aptitude
Forklift licence
Ability to operate machinery in the facility
A current drivers licence
First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain
Ability to use of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
Desirable Criteria
MR truck licence or willingness to obtain
Front end loader licence
Certificate IV in Disability
Certificate IV Workplace Training & Assessment
Demonstrated experience in disability, mental health or related field
Demonstrated knowledge in Disability legislation and standards.
