An opportunity exists to join a dynamic team to provide high quality, patient-centred nursing care to oncology patients under the care of haematology, medical oncology or radiation oncology at The... Townsville University Hospital. You will be expected to develop and use their assessment, care planning implementation and evaluation skills to ensure patient care is delivered in accordance with the EVIQ recommendations. The successful applicant will also be a member of a broader Oncology Nursing Team of Ambulatory Oncology where they will interact regularly with members of all aspects of Ambulatory Oncology. The opportunity also exists to interact with the Oncology Clinical Trials Team and learn about the latest clinical trials.
The successful applicant will be supported in obtaining relevant skills and knowledge to enhance their career advancement in their chosen direction, through internal and external education, the support of an Oncology Nurse Educator and an active inservice program. They will also be members of a broader Oncology Nursing Team of Ambulatory Oncology where they will interact regularly with members of the Radiation Oncology, Oncology Day Unit and Cancer Care Coordination teams.
Generous remuneration package value up to $24,389 p.a. comprising salary range of $19,904 to $21,313 p.a. (Nurse Grade 6), 17.5% leave loading, 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation. Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent and current AHPRA registration.
Shift Workers: Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster, which may include participation in an on-call roster.
Extensive experience in Oncology Outpatient Setting relevant to the role.
Possession of or working towards a relevant post-registration and/or tertiary qualifications in Oncology nursing will be well regarded.
All employees of the Ambulatory Oncology Service may be required to work in other areas of the Service.
