Claims Advisor Canberra ACT We are looking for an experienced insurance professional to join our Canberra Workers Compensation claims team as a Claims Advisor in a permanent full-time role.
As a Claims Advisor managing a resolution portfolio you will be responsible for managing claims in line with ACT Workers Compensation legislation, to ensure that our injured workers receive the appropriate treatment and rehabilitation.
This busy and varied role will see you engaging with stakeholders including Brokers, Employers, Workers and Rehabilitation consultants to investigate liability, gather and analyse medical and rehabilitation reports, determine the value of the claim, and negotiating settlement.
Building strong relationships with all parties involved in the claims including claimants, employers, brokers and treatment providers proactively managing a full portfolio of claims using best practice strategic claims management Obtaining and reviewing medical, financial, investigative and... rehabilitation reports to assist in the accurate assessment of individual claims Ensuring legislative compliance timeframes are met Negotiating claims settlements with either workers or their solicitors in line with legislative, regulatory and procedural guidelines Provide an excellent level of customer service to the legislative authority, employers and injured workers through communication and compliance with legislation Management and negotiation of claims, including communication with claimants and solicitors, by phone, correspondence and/or attending settlement conferences and/or hearings
Skills & Experience
Claims experience within Workers Compensation would be preferred A medical background or experience within Law may be beneficial Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to listen, build rapport, communicate complex information and negotiate with a variety of stakeholders included workers, third party providers, external bodies and internal teams Strong administrative and written skills and the ability to effectively manage all aspects of each claim whilst keeping in the restraints of the ACT workers compensation legislation A positive attitude and willingness to contribute to workplace improvement and changes An Allied Health background would be beneficial
