Our reputable client is a large Federal Government Agency, based in the heart of Canberra. They are seeking the services of a proven Policy & Legislative Compliance Officer to support the Modernisation Program Delivery team.
About the Opportunity
ASAP start in the New Year
Contract until end June 2021 (plus possible extensions)
Ability to obtain Baseline Vetting Security Clearance
Central Canberra location
The role will see you work within a multidisciplinary team to design services and provide advice on legislation compliance/policy analysis. Some of your duties may include:
Develop in depth knowledge of new subject matter quickly to advise and recommend on policy and legislative matters
Build effective and solutions driven relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders
Conducting complex legal and policy analysis to inform the service design of core election systems
Conduct in depth research and analysis on relevant topics to help inform team outcomes
Prepare... written correspondence such as briefs, reports and proposals
Provide mentorship and informal training to junior colleagues
About You
You possess 5+ years relevant work experience as a Policy & Legislative Compliance Officer or similar. Additionally, you have:
Strong written skills that are short, sharp and effective
Proven ability to interpret, apply and develop clear and concise briefs, reports, proposals
Proven ability to identify and provide sound advice and recommendations on Policy and legislative compliance matters
Proven ability to work as part of a collaborative and highly motivated team
Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality and succinct work
Effective negotiation and stakeholder management skills
Highly developed judgement, intelligence and common sense
A commitment to support and promote Program objectives
