Pub Italia, how we long for thee. This is such a great restaurant located just outside of the Ottawa's downtown area. (Parking may be a bit tough on busy nights, a fair warning). It is quite large but embodies everything about a quaint and comfortable setting. The decor is amazing and very rustic, the walls are filled with different artifacts from old churches and a random array of different things to look at. They are home to the largest selection of beers all listed in the 'beer bible' that is sure to impress any beer connoisseur. The food is great and the service is very friendly. The menu is Italian inspired including thin crust pizzas and a large variety of scrumptious pastas. There are vegetarian options and kid friendly options as well. The prices are moderate and cater to many different crowds. Pub Italia defies definition as it is unlike any other restaurant in the downtown area. A great place for the family or a couple casual drinks with friends. Every time I have been the waiters have been very accommodating and polite. The food is served in a timely manner and you’ll be glad for a little bit of lag as it gives you more time to browse the beer bible and take in the décor. I personally suggest the chicken parmesan. The serving is very generous and it is one of the best I have had. The pizzas also come highly recommended, as there are many varieties that cater to all, vegetarians included. I would also suggest requesting to sit in one of the tables that is secluded, it really makes you feel like you are the only ones in the restaurant with your personal staff. Overall I would rate this one of the best restaurant experiences I have had in Ottawa and suggest it to everyone.
