The CIBC (Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce) located at 33 Lansdowne Ave, in the Carleton Place Mews strip mall, is the only full-service CIBC bank in the town of Carleton Place (there are currently three additional automated bank machines in town, located at two different Mac’s Milk locations and at Pioneer Gas Station on Highway 7).
This location is wheelchair accessible, and there are several handicapped parking spaces in the parking lot. The bank is open from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM from Monday to Wednesday, the extended hours of 9:30 AM to 7:00 PM on Thursdays and Fridays, and from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM on Saturdays. It is closed all day on Sundays.
In this spacious bank, patrons are able to receive personal service from bank tellers. Patrons are also able to make appointments with financial advisors in order to discuss their financial futures and ask questions related to Tax-Free Savings Accounts (TFSAs), Guaranteed Investment Certificates (GICs), Registered Retirement Savings Plans (RRSPs) and other investments.
As well as offering service through tellers, this CIBC also has two Automated Banking Machines (ABMs). At the ABMs, patrons can perform almost all the transactions that can be carried out through a teller. These include withdrawing cash, paying credit card bills and other bills, transferring money to other accounts (their own or those of others), making deposits (envelopes are provided), and changing or selecting a PIN number for a debit card.
At the bank machines, CIBC audio access is provided. This is especially beneficial to visually-impaired patrons. Patrons can simply plug any pair of working headphones into the ABM they’re using, and receive private, personalized instructions as to how to perform particular transactions. For added privacy, the screen on a machine can be blanked out while directions are being given.
This bank does not have public washrooms, but should an emergency arise, a patron can be escorted to a restroom by an employee.
